Gladys has Sugar and Spice Random Thoughts

It is Friday again and time for Mrs. 4444 to present her Friday Fragments. Go on go over read her fragments, link yours and have a big old fragmented party. Then go on over to Ann Again and Again for your weekly Virtual Girls Night Out. Have a drink, even if it’s just water, read some stories and partake in her game. Also link your Friday to her Friday.   Now Otin over at The Wizard of Otin, turn your speakers down I'm just sayin, is having Happy Hour Friday.  Go on over link up and then post the things that make YOU happy.  If I visit all these gosh darn parties I'm going to end up really happy.

It’s time for a Gladys rant… yes sometimes Gladys goes off on a tangent. This time it is a conspiracy theory. It is a communist plot of epic proportions. It is a wrong that must be righted. It is a mystery that must be solved… It is October 16. That means we are sixteen days into October. You are reading this and thinking, so. So? So! So why can’t I find any pumpkin spice coffee creamer? Fall is going to be over, the season will have ended and I will not have gotten my Pumpkin Spice Coffee Mate. See I told you it was a communist plot.

*I am in no way affiliated with Coffee-mate but should they want to send me a case of Sugar Free Pumpkin Spice Non Dairy Creamer please email me immediately!
PS Go to the bottom of my page and click on the Coffee-mate button.  This is not an ad and I do not make any money from it.  It is to help women get presentable clothes to go on job interviews.  Go on go click you know you want to. :)
***********************************************************

I am sure all of you saw the GIANT UFO shaped balloon that was flying over Fort Collins with a little 6 year old boy in it only he wasn’t. Do you think that the dad just wanted everyone to see what he built so they told 9-1-1 that he was? What did that call sound like?

Man: Hi, yeah a big silver UFO got loose from my back yard and my six year old son is in it.
9-1-1 Operator: Sir, how much have you had to drink?
*******************************************************
I got sent this in an e-mail the other day and thought I would share it with you. I found it very interesting for several reasons.

********************************************

I had to mail a couple of packages this week and there is a UPS store down the street. Thinking this would be most convenient I loaded up my boxes and headed down the hill to the store. I fetched my packages from the back of the car and teetered up the counter. “You want to mail those?” came the bored voice of the counter person. Then from somewhere in the back came another voice “No dumbass, she is just out taking them for a walk and wants to know if you can watch them while she goes to Starbucks.”
Damn I hate it when someone else beats me to a smart assed remark.

****************************************************
I am an agoraphobic and every outing is an adventure for me, ok not really I'm just a homebody. I went to Target. I was in the make-up department and overheard this tidbit from two octogenarian women:
Woman #1: Have you ever tried this Jamima Kidd (she meant Jemma Kidd) stuff?
Woman # 2: Yeah it’s pretty good but I like Mrs. Butterworth’s better.

Um which would you smear on your face?

Which leads me to another question...Where is MR. Butterworth?
**************************************************
It is back in the 90’s here after our short bout with autumn. Honestly it amazes me how the media makes a catastrophe out of everything. It doesn’t rain and it’s a catastrophic drought. The winds blow and it is catastrophic fire weather. It sprinkles and we have catastrophic mudslide watches. What’s next? Catastrophic sunshine?

*********************************************
Now here are some things that make me happy:

Long walks with my hubby and the dogs

Friends
(This guy may be flying you to your next destination, he's a pilot)

Dancing

Family

What are you doing this weekend? Watching football? Gathering your recipes in anticipation of Thanksgiving? Me, yep you guessed it I’m headed to the beach.

Now go on and be good to one another and remember thoughts become things, think good ones.

Poor family with the child that they thought was in the balloon. The morning shows were roasting them something fierce like they were bad parents who must be "possibly abusing" this boy for him to hide from them!!!

HELLO!!! He is just an ornery little boy being mischievous.

Well, you could have gone down to Starbucks and ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte and one of your problems would have been solved.... well, for an hour at least!

I'm going to an estate sale on Saturday. It's going to be 38 degrees...yes 38! I must be crazy! I'd rather be going to the beach too!

I am grading papers. Exciting, I know. I am also going to cheat on Weight Watchers by having an iced capp from Tim Hortons. I've been planning this little cheat for three days, so it had better taste spectacular.

Hit 40- Did you see him this morning throw up on the Today Show? Poor kid.

Hey Chaco - I'll be right there. Can I come to Peru and pick it up?

SueMac - yeah the difference is I can buy a big bottle of Coffee-mate for what a small Bigbucks cost. ;)

Tracy - you should come here, they are having a huge one in Brentwood. Some old movie actor's stuff.

Caution Flag - Give them all "A's" and come to the beach.

Mrs. Weiner - I don't know what I'd do without the Home Depot. I keep them in business just with my duct tape purchases. :)

Hi - dropped in from Otin's blog. Love your "happy" pictures -- although I'm worried that I'll be flying with your pilot friend one day! ;->

I'm going to think catastrophically good thoughts!

That balloon boy thing is looking ever so more odd.

Mr Butterworth is watching TV on his lazy butt while the Mrs is in the kitchen cooking all day... typical male! ;)
Happy Friday and happy GNO!

LMAO I had a 22 month old and everything is also a catastrophe so I keep telling her she is going to grow up to be an anchorwomen

Harriet - I'm thinking maybe she is a widow? He died from sugar poisoning.

Slacker Chick - Come by anytime.

Blue Violet -- That sounds like a castastrophically good idea.

Robin - so that is where he is?

NAM- isn't everything with a 2 year old?

I left my .50 cent note, but I'm sure there are a bunch of things we shouldn't be consuming in that creamer... just get a lovely container of 1/2 & 1/2 pumpkin pie spice, and sugar.

Pumpkin Spice coffee mate is one of the reasons that coffee is a fall essential...seriously. I love that stuff! I do the Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, but you I can't have it as many times as I would like (read hat several times a day!) unless I win the lottery, so coffee mate better get on it and send some out to grocery stores everywhere so that we can all get our fall fixes!

On the whole balloon boy situation...I'm going with hoax. The cops might have cleared the family today, but I'm not believing it!

Happy VGNO!

Wow, Gladys-You have quite a few fragments here! I tried to keep up.

Yeah, that balloon dad; what a loser. Poor kids....

Pumpkin Spice, huh? Now you've gone and set my mouth to watering!

Loved the UPS comment. I think I'd like to work there.

Hope you're having a great weekend. Thanks for fragmenting this week :)

I thought that pumpkin spice coffee thing was Michel's invention....what will the US create next to tantalize their over-loaded tastebuds?!
