On The Road Again...

I have had a most unusual day. Kahuna and I thought "Hey we are headed to California, it is like 104 in the shade there and Santa Barbara is on fire. Let's wear shorts." It was a little cool this morning but hey it's Montana right?
We got outside of Missoula headed towards Idaho and this is what we saw.

First it looked like this

Then it looked like this

Then it looked like this.

And then we passed into Idaho. We are headed southwest. The snow should be gone right?

Yeah it's getting a lot warmer.... See we are in the PACIFIC TIME ZONE. That means sunny beaches right?

So we kept driving and finally it started getting warmer. It was all of 45 degrees and it started raining...

Then we got stopped by road construction.

Now see I think this is just rude. She looks like a nice girl, I don't think she is a dip. Oh, they meant a dip in the pavement. We stopped for coffee and because I had to you know...This store had it all. It had food, bait hot drinks and dogs. I don't know what kind of dogs I didn't really see any dogs but hey that's kinda cool.

Then the sky opened and we saw blue skys trying to break through. Yipee we cried. Sunshine, warm breezes. But then it did this

And we wondered if we would ever see sunshine again.

So if this is the fire truck for the Village of New Meadows I sure hope they don't have many fires.
Wow the people in this building are REALLY BIG.

Finally the clouds parted and there were blue skies. Then we decided to stop for the day.

There was a foul smell in the air, one that smelled like methane gas...We looked at one another and asked "Who cut the cheese?"

To Be Continued....

Did you stop at the Idaho border and they said "Welcome to Idaho, here's your potato and snowball..."

I'm from Idaho. I've seen it snow there in July. But I'd take it over 112 degrees in Arizona where I live.

I sure hope you didn't wear Flip Flops with your shorts.
I just hate it when I get snow stuck between my toes. Yikes!

Travel safely!

Wow! This is so much fun, riding on the road with you! And if you see those really big people out on the road thumbing it, I'd think twice about picking them up.

I think Joyce and I stopped at that bait shop a couple of years ago.

BTW, it was 108 in Pecos today -- but just a tad cooler here in the Dallas area.

You are SO funny!

I wonder where I can get one of those "Dip" signs? What? No! I have no sneaky plans for my husband! Why would you think that?

The Notus sign is awesome. We saw so many hysterical signs on our drive from Palm Beach to NYC this week. I have to ask, why do you winter in the Northwest and Summer in California? That seems backwards to me! LOL

Hi! I love reading your "blog about town". The weather has been totally just plain strange. Here in the Land of Lincoln, where you wait for Mother's Day to plant your garden, it's in the freaking 40's!

BTW, I didn't cut the cheese.

Happy trails!

I hope the move is going well, Gladys. Hate to say it, but I don't envy you that job. Hurry back, we miss you!
