Random Thoughts by Gladys Earth Day Edition

Since Earth Day was earlier this week I thought I would keep my thoughts to the Earth as opposed to having Lunar Thoughts.

Dear Mr. Gore is the two moon effect caused from Global Warming or from bad photography?

I feel sorry for snow men. I mean people are always throwing their balls at each other.

Earlier this week my loving husband took me to the dump…you can read about it here. I thought I would share my trip with you so….

Why can't you approach the dump on the left? Is it a conservative dump?

See those pipe sticking out of the ground? I asked Kahuna what those were and he said they are "fart pipes". I guess that means the dump is not anal retentive.

What is the fun of going to the dump if you can't bring something home?

Does this mean that you have to dump your car and your kids at the same time? I just don't think that is fair. You should be able to leave one and not the other.

Good GAWD what are they dumping? I bet there are old U.F.O's behind that sign and they don't want us to see them.

They must be dumping their kids.

This is just one days trash. I was overwhelmed and not just by the stench.

Did you know people dump horse, deer, elk, and other animal carcasses at the dump but they don't have to remain in the vehicle?

Notice the tires scattered around. I think they forgot to say Past THIS Point.

See the dump is just like High School. They have cliques too. Those poor Level 3,2 and 1 Concretes have no where to hang out.

This one confused me. Isn't this the dump? Aren't you supposed to dump your trash?

Need a washer? A dryer? A refrigerator? A car? You can find it all at the dump.

The END

Oh one more thing...today is Friday which means over at Half Past Kissing Time she is celebrating her Friday Fragments. Go on over and visit or sign up your own Friday Fragment post.

Don't forget this is VGNO over at Ann Again and Again. I know I need a Girls night out after my tough week.

Ya know, when we lived in the country, some of our best times were when we went as a family to the dump. We had a special dump song we sang all the way there and all the way back. The boys loved the whole process of dumping, from throwing it out of the pickup to watching the big machinery mash it into the other trash.

Ahhh. Good times!

My grandma owned a junk yard and I used to spend hours hunting around for treasures. And your comment about the conservative dump was hysterical!

Who would have thought a trip to the dump could provide so much entertainment? Good post.

My husband told me that when he was a kid & went to the dump with his dad there was always an old guy with a table selling stuff he'd gotten out of people's trash. Why can't people look through it if they want? (I'm sure there's a reason...but really...) I'm sure we all throw stuff out that someone else could use.

Stopping by from Ann's VGNO!

I took a class about photography and there is like no way to take a photo of the moon with a normal camera because it doesn't provide it's own the light (I am sure you know the light is a reflection)

Our school does not have a lot of money.

The city trash dump is free to visit. So... this is where they go for a field trip :-( Really!! The science teachers take them.

Happy VGNO!!!!

haha, wow, nice post about the dump. I remember going to the dump with my dad when I was little. Is it weird that I remember someone giving us some bamboo paper plate holders there? Yeah, I have no idea. I think people would try to promote politicians or something by giving things away, but at the DUMP?? I remember getting a potholder too...anyway, Happy VGNO =)

Obviously we don't have the same father or you'd know what "Children must remain in car while dumping" means. When I was growing up, it didn't matter how much you needed to take a dump, the car wasn't stopping.

Howdy VGNO Gal! Interesting take on the dump. lol.

We didn't go to the dump, but we used to go get the gut wagon. It's exactly what it sounds like it is. We got it from the butcher to feed to the pigs. Yaagh!
